Owl Eyes - GLOW-IN-THE-DARK matted 8" x 10" giclee print (hand-painted glow accents) - unframed

$30.00

Owl's just hanging out, staring wide at the night...

This is an UNFRAMED, black-matted open-edition giclée* print of one of my original ink drawings, with hand-painted glow-in-the-dark accents (in this case, the eyes!). I've also painted glimmering gold accents onto the owl's feathers (alas, I can't show that in a digital image; that is best appreciated in person, under decent lighting).

The size of the black mat is 8" x 10" - the actual print is 5”x7”, and the image floats inside the mat, with a white border all around it - see the photo of the framed piece to give you an example what it looks like framed but PLEASE NOTE that you will NOT be getting a framed print - you’ll get a matted print only! The photo with the framed piece is to give you an idea of what it will look like.

Since I can't take a good photo in a dark room to show you what the glowing effect looks like, I've photoshopped the close-up images to give you an idea (though on the actual print the glowing areas will be slightly less even-toned, since it's hand-painted). The glow is great - it lasts a while in the dark! Fun stuff!!!

Printed with archival inks on rich Moab Entrada rag archival paper. These paper/ink combinations are rated by Wilhelm Imaging Research to last 200 years in dark storage or 75 years under glass - so it's gonna last! A note on color: I color-match my prints to the original/digital version. However, due to variations in computer monitors, the colors you see on your screen may look slightly different from the printed version.

The print comes to you matted, in a cello sleeve with flawboard backing. To ensure it reaches you safely, I'll ship it in a rigid fiberboard mailer, with delivery confirmation.

Thanks for stopping by!

*giclee is a fancy term for an archival inkjet print! More detail from Wikipedia: Giclée, commonly pronounced "zhee-clay," is a generic term for the process of making fine art prints from a digital source using ink-jet printing. The term, from the French verb gicler meaning "to squirt, to spray", originally applied to fine art prints created on Iris printers in a process invented in the early 1990s but has since come to mean any high quality ink-jet print.
